Reflections upon discourses of hate
Question: How can you relate the following testimonials talked with each other in the hare discourses used in Europe, Africa and America?
Testimonial: "They don´t want toshare this country with us, they hate us!If they had it their way. They´d drive every single person and live us nothing. Not even the clothes on our backs." Taken from the script of "godbye bafana" in the scene in which Gloria Greggory tries to justify the apartheid system to her husband.
The movie “goodbye Bafana” is about what happened in South Africa around
1955-1994 which was when the apartheid happened, this period of time was
when the white people started to discriminate the black people and even
the white people who supported them, putting them in jail without any
good reason and punishing them for everything they did. All along this
time it was prohibited reading the freedom charter because that text
contained all of the rights that.the black people had and if anyone of
any race saw that they could start clamming for their rights. Gloria
Gregory was one of the people who at the beginning discriminated the
white people and agreed on treating them the way they did but after sherealized that they were just like others.
Elections of the United States of America 2016 was held on Tuesday
November eight of this year (2016) Donald Trump and Governor
Mike Pence, running on the Republican ticket, defeated the
Democratic Party's nominees former Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton and Senator Tim Kaine. President Barack
Obama could not run again due to the two-term constitutional
limit. This topic generated a lot of different ideas. Latino people are really concerned about the results, Donald Trump has said many things against Latinos and some of his ideas involve making a wall between Mexico and the United States. The American Lady in Michigan she says, that the Latinos are going to take over everything and that Donald would be the only one that its going to stand up for everyone and say no.
These two ideas were thought on different periods of time but they are actually really similar how on that time the black people did not did anything that wrong for them to be treated that way. Same thing is happening to Latinos we have made mistakes but that does not make fair for anyone to say that we are taking over or for anyone to discriminate us for being what we are and what we don’t regret Latinos. In both cases people are getting discriminated not even because of personal ideas, just because someone else says things that may not be true at all.
In both cases there´s a trend; people believe on what others tell them to. This trend is that in almost every country there is always someone who picture someone like an “enemy” for example in Germany those “enemies” were the Jews, In United States the Latinos, Muslims and a long time ago in South Africa the Black people.

'The people are so beautiful!' That's enough of the colonial tourism
This text was written by SE Smith it was published the 8th of april, 2014 on Theguardian.com.This article talks about how when people travel they only pay attention to the small perspective, which means, they only see what is on the top, the superficial. for example when travelers refer to natives they describe them as so nice and so beautiful, but they need to take a look at the bigger picture and see the native´s everyday lives.
SE Smith wants to give her point of view on this topic saying she does not like the way those travellers are just observers who describe people with simplistic terms using objectification which means saying "the people are so loving and gentle" but they don't really notice that they haven't seen all of it.The writer also explains that people should be more focused on getting into the life of the country get to know the place, learn its history and obviously respect the people who live there and get to know the place in a responsable way . Smith talks about how the tourists take pictures of their activities as if they were in a kind of museum, or in a kind of zoo "There seems to be a general idea that invasive photography as a tourist is not only permitted but encouraged, to document these "beautiful people" in their "natural habitat"and I think that the terms she uses to explain herself are not rally appropriate and that taking pictures of the people and then show them to people on your country is fine because that way other people would like to visit that place.
What I think about this text is that there are some aspects like that w¡travelers only focus on the superficial and don't get into all of what the place is made of and I agree on that but I don agree on how she talks about the pictures because if people didn't took pictures of what they saw in a place then how will others be interested on going? So pictures really help on the tourism of that place..If you want to know more about this text I really recommend you reading it.

Questions:
1. How specific time and place determine the social and cultural of our identity ?
2. What is the role of artistic manifestations in the construction of the social and cultural of our identity?
3. How does the creation of your album or cover help you constructing your own identity?
Answers:
1. Time and place do determine our identity, because depending on our history we are who we are. This is reflected on those moments of our lives that had impacted us at any way, the first day of school, our first time traveling, the first time we ride our bike those moments and more have shaped who we are now, also moments like the day of independence, the battles that happened in our country all of those stages have modified who we are today, because if our past was different maybe we would not be the same.
2. Artistic manifestations such as art, music, dance do impact our identity because most of the times you can recognize a country or a region by its art or music. What I understand about artistic manifestation is the impact that arts have on our identity and I think this impact is huge because arts are really important and they do help forming our identity.
3. The construction of this song helped me constructing my own identity in the way I expressed my thoughts about Latin Americans and this helped me because I got new knowledge on the topic and learned more about our past, and who we are nowadays. There were things that I did not know as our identity as a country/ continent and finding out those things contributed constructing to my own identity.
